Snooker icon Jimmy White stands among Britain’s most cherished sporting personalities, having established himself as a household name during his peak years.
He is widely considered the finest player never to have won the World Snooker Championship trophy, despite reaching six finals. Losses on each occasion have denied him the sport’s most prestigious honour.
The 64-year-old has subsequently captured the World Senior Championships crown on four occasions, an achievement no other player has been able to replicate. He mesmerised fans with his swift and aggressive style of play, securing him the iconic Whirlwind nickname.
White is just as renowned for his life beyond the baize, having endured more than his share of personal struggles.

Throughout his 46-year snooker career, White has accumulated considerable wealth. Celebrity Net Worth estimates his fortune at around £6.7million, reports the Express.
He has also earned a substantial amount in prize money, with CueTracker placing that total at £5.1m across his four-decade-long professional career.
White has candidly admitted spending a large proportion of his earnings on addiction, covering both drugs and gambling.
In fact, he has revealed that millions were lost on gambling alone, pushing him perilously close to bankruptcy. During an appearance on the Anything Goes podcast in 2021, White disclosed: “I gambled at least three million quid, so if I gambled three million quid I probably had to earn six or seven million to get that.
“That’s a lump, that’s retirement money, so I should be more sick with that. But because at the time it was going so f***ing quick you don’t think do you? I went bankrupt through gambling.”
Speaking openly about his battles with cocaine on Louis Theroux’s documentary Gods of Snooker, he said: “Cocaine was absolutely everywhere. It was like the devil’s dandruff, but crack – it’s evil.
“I tried smoking it and got completely addicted. I remember I had £35,000 in an account and I drained that on crack.”

Two-decade age gap with girlfriend
Having conquered these demons, a now clean and sober White has attributed his recovery to his partner Jade Slusarczyk, who has kept him grounded and helped him resist his former addictions.
The television personality and model, who previously claimed the title of Miss Blackpool, is significantly younger than the snooker legend at 23 years his junior.
The couple first crossed paths in 2018 at a snooker tournament in her home town and began their relationship, undeterred by their substantial age difference.
Speaking to The Sun, White acknowledged his relationship with Jade has brought him immense happiness.
He commented: “It’s impossible to say how much I used to drink in my wild days.
“It was drink after drink and line after line and I’d go missing for days. It took 15 years to get sober and I don’t miss that life at all.
“Jade’s helped me because she doesn’t drink. I’ve never been so happy and I’m pleased to say my life is in a good place. I haven’t got a zillion in the bank but I have my family and Jade.
“I didn’t think for a minute she’d go out with me, because of the age difference. It’s a miracle she fancies me. But she doesn’t care about the age difference, so why should I?
“She’s my girlfriend and she’s fit so I’m happy. She’s a beautiful girl, inside and out.”
