Gwynedd Maldwyn constituency election result 2026 in full as it happens

The sprawling Gwynedd Maldwyn constituency will see six Senedd members elected to the Welsh Parliament once all the votes are counted today (Friday, May 8).

This constituency covers Bala, Caernarfon, Machynlleth, Newtown, Porthmadog and Welshpool. and combines the Westminster constituencies of Dwyfor Meirionnydd and Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr.

Once the votes are counted at Arfon Tennis Centre in Caernarfon, a form of proportional representation will be used to calculate the parties that will get representatives elected to the Senedd.

Each of the 16 constituencies which covers Wales will have six representatives. Counting is underway and we will bring you the result in full, as well as all the reaction from the Gwynedd Maldwyn count.

Siân Gwenllian and Mabon ap Gwynfor, both Plaid Cymru politicians in the last Senedd, are hoping to be re-elected her. Former independent, Russell George has also put his name forward.
