A Kona Storm and Mick Fleetwood

By Friday morning the Kona Storm had moved in. I went out on the deck and looked in disbelief as tiki torches and lawn furniture from the pool began flying around from the high winds. Most of the Hawaiians had told us that they’d never seen a storm like this in their lifetime, and were referring to it as a “mini monsoon.”
We chose to stay at the resort because our power had went out the night before, and then proceeded to go out a few more times during the heavy rain. The resort had a generator for the office but not for the rooms, so we were better off hunkering down to stay safe.
