Yaroslav Amosov succeeding shows strength of PFL talent, per ex-foe ahead of UFC 328

Yaroslav Amosov will look to go 2-0 on his UFC specific ledger when he battles Joel Alvarez at UFC 328 on May 9th. A former multi-time opponent of the Ukrainian standout has offered up his viewpoint of this intriguing welterweight matchup set for Saturday.
Logan Storley is that referenced fighter with a pair of clashes transpiring with Amosov whereby the latter bested the former on points twice. The second bout saw Amosov cement himself as the Bellator MMA welterweight champion in February 2023 as he now looks to build up a run toward contending for UFC gold in the future. When offering his thoughts on the Yaroslav Amosov vs. Joel Alvarez bout at UFC 328, Storley said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Yeah, [Yaroslav] Amosov obviously going on to the UFC, great for him. We want to see guys that came from Bellator [and] PFL that go over to the UFC, obviously we want to see them do well. Continue to thrive and I think it just shows how good people are at Bellator [and] PFL. So that, for me, it’s like we want to see him continue to do well.”
Yaroslav Amosov has better grappling than Makhachev and Chimaev, per UFC peer
Yaroslav Amosov stands out in a big way in the MMA world, to the extent that gym compatriot Daniil Donchenko sees him as being markedly better than the reigning UFC welterweight kingpin Islam Makhachev.
As the surging UFC star was speaking highly of the space that he trains out of, Donchenko stated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“I like atmosphere in Syndicate [MMA]. I like the energy in this gym… Then it’s Yaroslav Amosov, ex-Bellator champion, future UFC champion. Because this guy, he is like; he’s different. People will understand this soon. Now they just put some comments, oh Makhachev can smash, can beat him.”
“But one thing that I can say, Yaroslav Amosov, he have much better wrestling and grappling than Islam Makhachev and even than Khamzat Chimaev too. So just give this guy time and fights and he will prove it. He don’t need five, six fights before title. Give him one more and title, he’s ready. Only this fight makes sense for me because only Yaroslav can defend and can take Islam down.”
