Chris Weidman named to UFC Hall of Fame

Chris Weidman is getting some major recognition.

The former middleweight champion will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame class of 2026 under the “modern wing,” the UFC announced on Saturday.

Weidman will be the 19th member of the “modern wing.”

The Modern Era category includes athletes who turned pro on or after Nov. 17, 2000. Other requirements include a minimum age of 35 or those who have been retired for one year or more.

Weidman retired from MMA in January 2025.

He had a 15-year career with a 16-8 (12-8, UFC) record. He holds wins over fellow UFC Hall of Famers Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort.

Weidman beat Silva for the UFC middleweight championship on July 6, 2013 and held the title for 889 days with three successful defences, including a second win over Silva.

The UFC Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on July 9.
