Is ‘SNL’ new tonight? Here’s what we know

‘SNL’ mocks Trump over rising gas prices in cold open

“Saturday Night Live” kicked off its latest cold open with President Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) discussing Iran and rising gas prices.

The end of the current “Saturday Night Live” cycle is nearly upon us.

Following a rather memorable appearance by Olivia Rodrigo doing double duty as host and musical guest last week, Matt Damon is stepping up to host Season 51’s penultimate episode. The May 9 shows marks the Oscar-winning actor’s third time hosting.

Later this summer, fans will be able to witness Damon flex his theater chops as Greek warrior Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” which hits theaters July 17.

Joining Damon in Studio 8H tonight is singer-songwriter Noah Kahan whose fourth studio album “The Great Divide” is out now. The 17-track album features hit singles “The Great Divide” and “Porch Light,” according to Universal Music Canada.

Here’s what to know ahead of tonight’s show, including how to watch.

Who’s on ‘SNL’ tonight?

Matt Damon and Noah Kahan are teaming to bring the laughs and the tunes tonight. The pair will be followed by “SNL” alum Will Ferrell and Paul McCartney, who are hosting the Season 51 finale on May 16.

A premiere date for Season 52 has yet to be announced. “SNL” typically returns at the end of September, or the beginning of October.
