Teyana Taylor Pulls Off High-Low Dressing Like No One Else

If anyone can make a maximalist, mixed-print, high-low outfit work, it’s Teyana Taylor. The actor’s bold fashion has been one of the highlights of awards season for the past couple of years, but she doesn’t need a red carpet to deliver a look.
This past weekend, the One Battle After Another star stepped out in a fit that screamed joy—in high fashion. Up top, a cropped brown Schiaparelli jacket with surrealist gold buttons took the spotlight, while below, it was light-wash jeans with Sharpie-like doodles all over—à la middle school—what deserved a round of applause. (An “LOL,” a red heart, and some flowers served as standouts.) Plaid red-and-blue fabric gave the pants’ pockets a pop of color, while some studs, chains, pearl strands, and frayed hems added to the fun.

Taylor’s Schiaparelli moment comes as she has repped the fashion house time and time again over the past several months. Never forget the Louvre-heist-inspired look she debuted during Paris Couture Week; or more recently, the sculptural, shimmery ensemble from the brand that she wore to the TIME 2026 Women of the Year Gala.
This time, the actor wore her Schiaparelli with some unexpected streetwear pieces. Her elegant jacket was layered over a graphic, oversize tee (seemingly vintage). As for footwear, she slipped on a pair of Vans slip-ons in navy, with faux-jewel and -pearl embellishments (shop a similar style here).
A colorful crochet beanie that Taylor further adorned with some large statement pins proved to be the cherry on top.
