Is Luka Doncic playing today? Lakers vs. Thunder Game 4 injury update

Three NBA teams are down 0-2: Who can still save their season?

Three teams face 0-2 deficits in the NBA playoffs. Which contenders still have a path back into the series, and whose season already feels finished?

Can the Los Angeles Lakers keep their season alive without Luka Doncic?

LeBron James, Austin Reaves and company have another daunting task when the Lakers face the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinals series on Monday, May 11. The Lakers face a 3-0 series deficit and will be trying to avoid a sweep at the hands of the defending NBA champions.

Doncic has yet to play in these playoffs and his status for Monday’s game isn’t looking good, either. He hasn’t appeared in a game for the Lakers since suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain on April 8.

Here’s a look at Doncic’s injury status for Game 4 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder, as well as the latest update on when he might be able to return:

Is Luka Doncic playing today?

No. Luka Doncic is listed as out due to a left hamstring strain for Game 4 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder on the NBA’s official injury report.

Luka Doncic injury status update

Doncic has missed more than five weeks since initially suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain in an NBA regular-season game between the Lakers and Thunder on April 2. Doncic told reporters last week it’s the same hamstring that forced him to miss four games earlier this season around the NBA All-Star break.

Doncic also confirmed that he went to Spain soon after the injury occurred in order to receive platelet-rich plasma therapy, among other additional treatments. Doncic said he received four PRP injections while in Spain.

“I’m just doing everything I can,” Doncic told reporters in earlier in the series when asked about his availability for Games 3 and 4 in Los Angeles. “Every day, I’m doing things I’m supposed to do. Obviously, I’m recovering, and now I’m working. The doctor said eight weeks at the beginning of the first MRI. So I’m just going day by day, and I feel better every day.”
