Sabres defeat Canadiens in Game 4 to even second-round series
Zach Benson scored the winner in the third period to lead the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens to even their best-of-seven series at 2-2 on Tuesday night.
Tage Thompson and Mattias Samuelsson also found the net for the Sabres, who will return home to host Game 5 on Thursday.
Alex Newhook and Cole Caufield replied for the Canadiens in the losing cause.
The Sabres turned to Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in Game 4 after Alex Lyon got the call in the opening three games of the series.
The winner of the series will face the Carolina Hurricanes for a berth in the Stanley Cup final.
