Manchester schoolgirl arrested after three injured by knife

A girl has been arrested after three people were injured at a school in Manchester.

She was arrested earlier after three people suffered knife injuries at the Co-op Academy on Plant Hill Road in Blackley.

The injuries are not believed to be serious at this time, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said. Emergency services remain on scene and the force said officers are supporting the school.

There is not believed to be any wider threat to the pupils and staff at the school, GMP added in a statement released at just after 09:00 BST.
