Patriots draft pick charged with domestic assault

New England Patriots seventh-round draft pick Quintayvious Hutchins has been charged with misdemeanor domestic assault and battery on a family/household member.
According to court documents, Hutchins was arraigned Wednesday morning in Newton District Court. The 23-year old pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance.
The Patriots released the following statement:
“We are aware of the report involving Quintayvious Hutchins. We take these matters very seriously and are in the process of gathering additional information. We will not have further comment at this time.”
WBZ first reported the charge stemming from an alleged incident that occurred Tuesday in Newton.
Hutchins signed his rookie contract with the Patriots last weekend before leaving Saturday’s rookie minicamp practice early with an undisclosed injury.
The outside linebacker played four seasons at Boston College before being selected by the Patriots with the 247th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Named a team captain as a senior, Hutchins appeared in 43 games over his collegiate career recording 72 total tackles and 5.5 sacks.
