Priyansh Arya becomes the second uncapped Indian player to aggregate 350+ runs in each of their first two seasons.

Priyansh Arya is playing as an opener for Punjab Kings in the ongoing 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League. In PBKS’ 12th league match of IPL 2026 which is taking place at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) on Thursday (May 14), he scored 22 runs from 17 balls. He hammered four fours during his stay at the crease and also took his tally of runs to 364 in this year’s IPL.

Priyansh, who made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings last year (in 2025), is only the second uncapped Indian player after Ambati Rayudu to score at least 350 runs in each of his first two seasons of the IPL.

Rayudu, who finished his IPL career with six titles in 2023, made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2010 and scored 356 runs in 14 matches. In the 2011 edition, he amassed a total of 395 runs in 16 matches for the Sachin Tendulkar-led side.

On the other hand, Priyansh, who represents Delhi in domestic cricket, amassed a total of 475 runs in his maiden IPL season. He played 17 matches for the Shreyas Iyer-led side in IPL 2025 and played a big role in helping them finish as runners-up.
