Warm weather, sunshine in the forecast for Victoria Day long weekend

The Victoria Day long weekend marks the unofficial start to summer, and the forecast is set to deliver plenty of warmth and sunshine.
According to Sean Akiyama, operational meteorologist with Environment Canada, temperatures will climb to around 20 C on Saturday, warming to about 25 C on Sunday and reaching up towards 30 C on Monday.
Akiyama added that the weekend should be sunshine outside of the potential for some showers on Saturday afternoon.

The Ontario government’s recently-passed Retail Business Holidays Act allows some stores to remain open on the holiday Monday, however most regional and city-operated buildings will remain closed. That includes libraries and administrative offices.
Select LCBO locations and grocery stores will also remain open on the holiday Monday.
As for fireworks, where you live will decide when and where they’re allowed to be set off. In Kitchener and Cambridge, fireworks can only used on Monday until 11 p.m. In Waterloo, fireworks are additionally allowed to be set off on the day before and day after Monday, again until 11 p.m.
