Friday’s morning wave dealt with howling winds at Aronimink Golf Club. It’s now the afternoon set’s turn in Round 2 of the 108th PGA Championship — with better scoring conditions.

Hideki Matsuyama (67) and Chris Gotterup (65) share the clubhouse lead at 3 under par. Scottie Scheffler, who bogeyed three of his first four holes, battled back for a 71 to finish at 2 under. Cam Young (67) and Justin Thomas (69) are on the same number.

Aldrich Potgieter is on his back nine, currently circling a bit of history. The 21-year-old South African could become the youngest 36-hole leader at a major championship since Tiger Woods at the 1997 Masters. He’s currently being challenged by Maverick McNealy.
