Britney Spears’s Rep Denies She Was ‘Erratic’ at Dinner

Britney Spears’s rep claims the singer’s allegedly “erratic” dinner in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Sherman Oaks was “completely blown out of proportion.” TMZ reported Spears was “screaming,” “barking,” and walking around with a knife while dining at a restaurant on May 13. As the rep explains, “Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard. She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors. At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half. This constant attack on everything that she does — and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous and it needs to stop now.”

Journalist Jeff Sneider, who was at the same restaurant, called the dining experience “wild.” He wrote on X, “She just left and everyone in the restaurant turned and started talking about it. An INSANE dining experience. One diner feared for her life. This is not a joke …” Sneider later told Entertainment Tonight that Spears was “using a British accent throughout the meal” and that another patron told him she thought Spears was going to stab her as the star allegedly walked toward her table holding a knife.

On May 4, Spears had pleaded guilty to a “wet reckless” in Ventura County after being arrested on suspicion of a DUI. “Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct. She has taken significant steps to implement positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County district attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI,” her attorney Michael A. Goldstein shared at the time.
