Taylor Pendrith shoots 3-under 67 in Round 3 at PGA Championship

Canadian Taylor Pendrith turned in a solid round on moving day at the PGA Championship and closed out his round just five shots back of the lead.

The Richmond Hill, Ont., native shot a 3-under 67 Saturday at a difficult Aronimink Golf Club to get him to 1-over for the week. Pendrith made the cut on the number Friday at 4-over par after a pair of 72s in his first two trips around the Newtown Square, Pa., course.

Pendrith took advantage of slightly softer conditions that came with his early morning tee time, carding six birdies and three bogeys on the day en route to his best round of the week. He sat in a tie for 44th at the conclusion of the round with Alex Smalley and Maverick McNealy holding the lead at 4-under.

Pendrith was one of three Canadians to play the weekend at the year’s second men’s major championship. Both Nick Taylor (Abbotsford, B.C.) and Corey Conners (Listowel, Ont.) finished at 1-over through their opening two rounds and were paired together for moving day, teeing off at 11:50 a.m. ET local time.
