TikTok star Gabbie Gonzalez arrested for plotting to hire hitman to kill singer Jack Avery
TikTok influencer Gabbie Gonzalez has been arrested over an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting singer Jack Avery.
According to TMZ, Gonzalez is expected to be charged in Los Angeles County with conspiracy to commit murder after authorities accused her of plotting to kill Avery, the father of her 7-year-old daughter.
Avery is best known as a former member of the boy band Why Don’t We.
TMZ reports that Gonzalez was arrested last week in Humboldt County, California, while boarding a flight. She was later transferred to Los Angeles County, where she is being held without bail.

The TikToker‘s father, Francisco Gonzalez, has also been arrested in connection with the alleged plot. TMZ reports he was taken into custody in Florida on Monday and booked on the same charge, though he has not yet been extradited to Los Angeles.
The allegations reportedly stem from a custody battle between Gonzalez and Avery over their daughter, Lavender.

According to TMZ, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Francisco became involved in the dispute, with one witness allegedly telling police he had said it would be cheaper if Avery were dead.

Authorities claim the alleged plan dates back to 2021 and involved tracking and photographing Avery in Hawaii, where he lives, in an attempt to gather material that could be used against him in the custody case.
Investigators reportedly believe Gonzalez and a friend later attempted to recruit a man to threaten Avery. A federal agent then allegedly posed as a hitman during a phone call with Francisco, where police say payments and the target were discussed.

Avery previously spoke about being warned by FBI agents that someone was trying to have him killed, though TMZ reports he did not appear to know Gonzalez was allegedly involved at the time.
