LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Fayette County Public Schools has released a full list of the positions the district has eliminated as part of its ongoing efforts to combat its budgetary shortfall.
One hundred and twenty positions were eliminated in all, including 49 hourly and 71 salaried.

“We want to underscore that these reductions should not be interpreted as a judgment of the people in those roles or the work they are doing. We ask that our community demonstrate empathy for the affected staff members as they continue to navigate this challenging news,” the district said in a release. “These colleagues have dedicated their time, energy, and talents to supporting our students. They are more than a job title; they are our neighbors, friends, and valued members of our community.”
FCPS said that each individual was personally notified and that they are welcome to apply for open positions in the future.
