Marsha Levitt (Silverstein) Obituary | 1944 – 2026

On May 13, 2026, Marsha Levitt (nee Silverstein) passed peacefully with her family around her.

Marsha, while born in London and living most of her adult life in Toronto considered herself a Windsor girl. She grew up at 1441 Victoria Avenue with her parents Rose and Murph Silverstein and her siblings, Leonard, Gayle and Michael. She always spoke so lovingly about her formative years, her friends that remained in her life for 80+ years, and her time at Kennedy Collegiate. Her family was the “Windsor Fish” family that expanded to London and Brantford as Silverstein Fish.

She was the most incredible mother to Steven and Risa, doing it all as a single mother, and with the love of her entire extended family.

As the years progressed, she was in perpetual motion, attending plays, concerts, symphonies and traveling the world. She knew everyone and everything about them. If you forgot a name, a birth date, a face, a lineage, you simply asked Marsha and she would fill you in.

She was a doting aunt, more a friend than a cousin, more a mother than a mother-in-law to Steven’s wife Stacey and Risa’s Austin, and when her granddaughters Jesse and Marley came into the world, she was a Bubbie beyond compare.

For a small woman, she made a huge impact and leaves an enormous hole. Marsha will undoubtably be missed, but will never be forgotten. That expression is said often, but has never been more true than with Marsha.
