BCP Council Blue Flags awarded but one beach misses out

Blue Flags are a mark of excellence for water quality, environmental management, safety and visitor services from the anti-litter charity.
Sandbanks beach was awarded one for a 39th time, and has had the status every year the awards have been running.
The six beaches also received the Seaside Award, external – along with Bournemouth, Boscombe and Avon Beach – which recognises beaches that offer a high-quality, well-managed and clean environment.
Regarding Avon Beach’s lack of a Blue Flag, the council said its “well-maintained promenades, thoughtfully managed facilities and vibrant mix of cafés, kiosks and amenities, including a popular beach sauna and The Noisy Lobster restaurant” would continue to draw people to Christchurch Bay.
