Danica Patrick Faces Backlash For Her Outfit At Indy 500 Sunday

Danica Patrick was a prime part of FOX’s coverage of the 2026 Indy 500 on Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon.

Patrick, who broke a lot of barriers during her career as a female driver in both IndyCar and NASCAR, rocked a one-shoulder red dress for FOX’s coverage of the iconic American race on Sunday.

The outfit choice sparked a lot of reactions.

“Danica Patrick vying for the Ashley Judd worst dressed ever at the Indy 500 award,” one fan commented on X.

“I’ve been a fan of Danica since the Letterman days. Why does she have to dress so ridiculously? Doesn’t she have anyone in her life to say ‘that’s really over the top for race coverage?'” another wrote.

“Danica Patrick looks ridiculous. She’s dressed like she’s going clubbing instead of the Indy 500,” another added.

For Patrick, it’s the second straight year that she has faced backlash for her outfit at the Indy 500.

Last year, she was called out for her checkerboard style outfit.

Patrick continues to cover IndyCar, NASCAR but will not be covering Formula 1

Patrick announced earlier this year that she will not be part of SkySports’ Formula 1 coverage this year.

“From my first Sky Sports F1 race in Austin to my last 5 years later… I had such a blast! The Sky team was so much fun (thank you all), I saw so many amazing new race tracks and cities, and got to be part of a huge boom in F1!

“I called after the last race in 2025 and said it was time for me to move on and I was so grateful for the opportunity and experience I was given!

“….and now due to my deep exposure to F1, I will be glued to my TV for the season starting this weekend, like every other fan!”

Meanwhile, Felix Rosenqvist ended up winning the 2026 Indy 500, in one of the closest finishes ever.
