There are currently more than 6,000 titles (movies and TV shows) available to stream on Netflix in the UK and Ireland.
The streaming platform is responsible for hit series like Stranger Things, Squid Games, and Wednesday.
But not all titles are as popular, forcing Netflix to cancel the show.
Others come to a natural conclusion and remain on the platform for new and old fans to binge over and over again.
Last year saw more than 30 Netflix titles cancelled, according to What’s on Netflix, including:
- Six Nations: Full Contact
- The Recruit
- The Ultimatum: Queer Love
- The Waterfront
- Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft
- Tour de France: Unchained
Netflix shows cancelled in 2026
Another 11 Netflix shows have been cancelled so far in 2026, according to Men’s Journal:

- Terminator Zero
- The Vince Staples Show
- Pop The Balloon LIVE
- Selling the City
- With Love, Meghan
- Alice In Borderland
- Class
- Miss Governor
- Bandi
- Star Search
Netflix shows coming to an end in 2026
Six other shows on Netflix will also be coming to an end this year, through planned conclusions:
- Emily in Paris (after season 6)
- The Night Agent (season 4)
- The Lincoln Lawyer (season 5)
- Alpha Males (season 6)
- Survival of the Thickest (season 3)
- Breathless (season 3)
How does Netflix decide which shows to cancel and renew?
There is a range of factors Netflix considers when deciding whether to renew or cancel a series, according to various sources (like IGN and Wired), including:
- Completion rate – how many users start and finish an entire season
- 28-day viewership – do viewers complete a series within the first 28 days (“binge-watching early is crucial to surviving”)
- Cost vs value
- Growth potential
- Ownership – is a series owned in-house by Netflix or by a third-party?
- Variety
