Drew Carey ripped into former reality TV star and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt, calling him a “serial scammer.”
The comedian wrote Friday on Threads, “I understand being angry/unsatisfied, but at least get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass. Fuck this guy already.”
Pratt responded to Carey’s critique, claiming on Monday on X that Carey is mentioned in the Jeffrey Epstein files. A search of Carey’s name in the Epstein files brings up a man named Jeff Davis telling Ghislane Maxwell, Epstein’s imprisoned co-conspirator, in a 2002 email that he allegedly had dinner with Carey.
Carey’s representatives did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
The former “The Hills” star announced his run for the mayor of Los Angeles about one year after his home burned down during the 2025 Pacific Palisades fire. Pratt’s campaign website lists “crisis leadership and emergency readiness,” along with homelessness, as issues he plans to address if elected.
Many Republicans, including President Donald Trump, have endorsed Pratt, who has raised more than 10 times as much in donations as the incumbent, Karen Bass. The TV personality’s sister, Stephanie Pratt, however, has warned against voting for her brother, calling him “unqualified and inexperienced,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She wrote on X in February, “A vote for him is a vote for stupidity. He’s just trying to stay famous and sell his memoir don’t be fooled.”
