Road to UFC, Season 5: Nepal’s Rabindra Dhant on course to secure UFC contract, beats Alintozon

Rabindra Dhant of Nepal moved an inch closer to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) contract with a commanding win over Kimbert Alintonzon in the Road to UFC in Macau on Thursday.
Dhant secured a knockout win in the second round, following a flurry of punches after pinning his opponent down.
After a couple of hiccups in the initial minutes of the first round, Dhant stood his ground and had answers for everything that his opponent threw at him. Dhant executed the clinches to perfection to overwhelm Alintonzon throughout the second round.
The build up to the fight was anything but smooth for the fighter from Bajhang. Dhant originally spent his training camp preparing to face a fighter named Matty Iann. However, a sudden late-notice shake-up removed Matty from the card, forcing Dhant to pivot his entire tactical game plan towards a new opponent in Kimbert.
To earn the coveted UFC contract, Dhant must win two more fights and champion the 8-man, single-elimination Road to UFC Season 5 bantamweight tournament.

That same year, Dhant made history as the first-ever fighter from Nepal to compete in the ONE Championship, making a successful debut with a win over Russia’s Torepchi Dongak. T
The sole blemish on his professional record to date also occurred in the ONE Championship, where he suffered a defeat against Pakistan’s Ismail Khan.
