Aquatic and Flying Animals Join Planet Zoo 2 When It Arrives Later This Year

Frontier Developments has announced Planet Zoo 2, which will include flying and aquatic animals in aviaries and aquariums for the first time.
This zoo sim sequel will arrive for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 13, almost seven years after the park gates opened on Frontier’s first Planet Zoo.
Announcing Planet Zoo 2 today, Frontier dubbed the game as a “generational leap forward in animation and animal behaviour”, with improved visuals and a wider gameplay focus on conservation — restoring natural habitats and releasing animals into wildlife reserves.
New acquatic species include black-tipped reef sharks, hawksbill turtles, and colourful shoals of fish, while bird species will meanwhile feature the toco toucan and the secretary bird.

As ever, you’ll also be having to balance the various needs of running a successful animal park — making sure your guests and staff are happy, as well as the animals, and also ensuring you’re making enough cash to keep the lights on.
Speaking of money, Planet Zoo will launch at $49.99/£39.99/€49.99, and pre-orders are open now. There’s a set of pre-order bonuses (you’ll get the Toucan Eat Shop and Signage, three Unique Animal Donation Bins, and the Tiger Photo Stand-In Wall when the game launches) and also a Deluxe Edition option.
Planet Zoo 2’s pricier version will cost $64.99/£54.99/€64.99 and feature six additional animal species — details of which are still to be announced. A Deluxe Edition upgrade pack will also be available, should you want to wait and see.
