Woman arrested in fatal stabbing of man in Massapequa, Nassau County: police

MASSAPEQUA, New York (WABC) — A 22-year-old woman was arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man in Massapequa on Monday.
According to police, they got a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
The crime allegedly happened in or near a home on Beaumont Avenue.
Sources say a 28-year-old man was found stabbed in the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman fled the scene at the time, according to sources, but there was news of an arrest by the afternoon.
Neighbors said they knew the victim well and they were completely shocked that he was fatally stabbed.
“I was standing with the kids, brother-in-law, and he told me right away, I think it’s my brother-in-law,” said neighbor Anthony Boccia.
Police have not released the identities of the victim or the suspect and it is not yet known what their relationship may have been.
Residents said police descended on the area Sunday night and appeared to be searching for the suspect.
“I’m concerned; this is as quiet of a neighborhood as you’ll ever find,” said neighbor Rocco Longo.
The investigation remains ongoing.
