Sabalenka overcame Naomi Osaka in a thrilling clash between big hitters on Monday night, live on TNT Sports and HBO Max.The world No. 1 has appeared determined to set the record straight after her damaging defeat to Coco Gauff in last year’s final, and has yet to drop a set this year in Paris.Shnaider has looked strong en route to sealing her place in the final eight. She beat No. 19 seed Madison Keys in three sets in the fourth round, and is now on her strongest-ever run at a Grand Slam.

Looking ahead to the match, Sabalenka said: “Yeah, she’s a great player. I’d say tricky game, changing the rhythm a lot, and moving well, great serving. So I’m super excited to face her for the first time and super excited for the fight.”

Elsewhere on Wednesday, the three Italians remaining in the men’s draw will all take to Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Former Wimbledon runner-up Matteo Berrettini will look to continue his remarkable return to fitness and form as he takes on compatriot Matteo Arnaldi in the evening session.

Meanwhile, No. 4 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime will look to seal his spot in the semi-final as he faces Flavio Cobolli.

Opening the day’s action on Court Philippe-Chatrier, Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska faces Anna Kalinskaya, hoping to continue her fairytale run in Paris.

When is Sabalenka playing?

Sabalenka faces Shnaider in the second match of the day on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Their quarter-final will follow Chwalinska versus Kalinskaya.

It will be the first time Sabalenka and Shnaider have met in a competitive match.

When is Auger-Aliassime v Cobolli?

Auger-Aliassime’s bid to reach the semi-finals against Cobolli will get underway straight after Sabalenka’s quarter-final.

The pair have met twice, with Cobolli winning on both occasions. They have only ever played one another on hard courts.
