FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAY – Strong to severe storms possible Friday PM

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Friday is a First Alert 6 Weather Day due to the increasing chance of severe weather during the late afternoon and evening hours. The areas under the greatest risk will be near and south of I-80 as storms move southeast.

All types of severe weather will be possible. There is a 2/5 risk for a majority of our viewing area you can see shaded in yellow. The SE and far NW portions of our area are at a 1/5 risk.

Up to egg size hail and up to 70 mph wind gusts are the main threats with any storms that develop, but we can’t rule out the possibility of one or two spin ups.
