Aussie teen Aiva Anagnostiadis’ F1 campaign in doubt after training mishap

Australian F1 Academy driver Aiva Anagnostiadis has been ruled out of round six of the all-female series in Singapore after undergoing surgery on a broken foot.

The 18-year-old is also now in doubt for the season finale in Las Vegas next month as she focuses on her recovery.

In a social media post last week, Anagnostiadis revealed she had suffered a fractured left foot in a training mishap and would miss the Singapore Grand Prix.

In a separate post days later, Anagnostiadis confirmed she would undergo surgery on Tuesday before starting her rehab journey.

“Race week … But instead I’ll be racing around the hospital in a wheelchair this week,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Learning to be patient with myself, especially with the amount of rest needed. But it’s all a part of my journey.”

Anagnostiadis set her return target as being fit and “ready for testing in Bahrain”. This is likely referring to a team test that has not been publicly announced.

In her rookie F1 Academy campaign, Anagnostiadis has been a solid mid-pack performer for TAG Heuer and Hitech TGR. She has scored five points so far, placing her 15th in the current standings.

Anagnostiadis will be replaced by British driver Megan Bruce, who she wished well as she steps in for the street circuit weekend.

The F1 championship and its feeder series will continue with the Singapore Grand Prix on October 5.

For the F1 Academy, only two race weekends remain in the 2025 season.
