Summer Game Fest: Where to watch, what to expect

June 5 (UPI) — The Summer Game Fest showcase returns Friday to highlight upcoming video games.

The seventh annual event will take place at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and stream live at 5 p.m. ET.

The Game Awards creator and Summer Game Fest producer Geoff Keighley and former GameSpot host Lucy James will host the event, which features announcements, trailers and footage of anticipated titles from different studios.

While the lineup is kept secret, organizers shared a “hype” teaser Wednesday featuring glimpses of different games, including Control Resonant, the sequel to Remedy Entertainment’s hit 2019 game Control, which releases Sept. 24.

Fans also speculated that a pair of green eyes in the teaser belong to Ciri, the protagonist of CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4.

Summer Game Fest officially launched Tuesday and will run through Monday, June 8.

Where to watch

The Summer Game Fest showcase will stream live Friday at 5 p.m. ET on The Game Awards YouTube, Twitch and the main page of the Steam store.

What to expect

The two-hour show will feature announcements, trailers and footage of upcoming video games from different studios.

The teaser for the event gave a glimpse of Control Resonant, Among Us and other games, with fans also speculating news about The Witcher 4, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, the Guild Wars franchise and more.
