Assistant basketball coach indicted on 30 charges

MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A Tug Valley High School assistant basketball coach from Mingo County has been indicted for 30 felony counts for using team funds for purchases unrelated to the team, according to court documents.
Robert Hodge was indicted on one count of money laundering, two counts of fraudulent schemes, two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses, 12 counts of unauthorized access device and 13 counts of computer fraud.
The indictment states the counts stem from April of 2021 to December of 2023.
The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office says Hodge was arrested Friday.
Mingo County Schools says they are monitoring the situation and are fully cooperating with the investigation.
