Blue Jays’ Daulton Varsho exits vs. Orioles with apparent hand injury

Centre-fielder Daulton Varsho left Friday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles with an apparent hand injury.

Varsho was shaking out his left hand during a pair of swings during his first-inning at-bat before grounding out. He initially stayed in the game defensively but was replaced by pinch-hitter Yohendrick Piñango when his turn in the batting order came up again in the fourth.

The 29-year-old Varsho owns a .256/.331/.408 slash line with five home runs after his lone trip to the plate against Baltimore.

Toronto is already without key position players Addison Barger and Alejandro Kirk, who are currently working their way back from injuries of their own.
