GLOVER DEPARTS

The Club can confirm that Ryan Glover has completed a move to League One side Stockport County.

The 25-year-old joined the Bees from Aldershot Town in the summer of 2024 and went on to make 94 appearances in black and amber, scoring 14 goals and providing 20 assists.

Glover played a crucial role in helping the club regain its EFL status, appearing in all but one game during our title-winning season and scored eight crucial goals throughout the course of the campaign, including a double against Sutton United, as well as finding the back of the net in both fixtures against Yeovil Town and Oldham Athletic.

The Yeovil-born winger made his debut in the club’s opening game of the 2024/25 season against Southend United at home before opening his Bees’ account with a goal in our 7-0 win against Tamworth just a week later, where he also provided two assists.

The pick of the bunch was possibly the drop of the shoulder before launching the ball into the top right corner as it dipped over the body of Jack Sims for his first of two in the dramatic 3-3 stalemate with the U’s.

Ryan continued his fine form into our first League Two adventure after seven years and was always one of the first names on Dean Brennan’s team sheet, starting all of our 46 league fixtures in our first season back in the Football League.

His first EFL goal came in a 2-1 win away at Crewe Alexandra, before he netted in a win at home against Accrington Stanley, victory on the road against Bristol Rovers and our first in a 3-2 win over Oldham Athletic at The Hive.

The winger won back-to-back Player of the Season Awards during his time with the Bees, playing an instrumental role in both the National League title-winning campaign and the club’s strong return to the EFL, where the Bees recorded a superb ninth-place finish and were in reaching distance of the play-offs till the penultimate game of the campaign.

A message from Dean Brennan:

“Gloves has been one of the great success stories of this football club. He’s given us 24 brilliant months and helped us to get to where we are now and now, he jumps up the food chain, which is full credit to him and his family.

He was the ultimate professional and epitomised everything we’re about at Barnet, so I wish him nothing but success at his new club.

It’s of course disappointing to lose Ryan, but we understand why he wanted to go to the next level. He’s dynamic, athletic, and went to the line in everything he did. He has extreme pace and dribbling skills and gave us plenty of memorable performances.

Our supporters are going to miss him, I’m going to miss him, but that’s football and we wish him well.”

Everyone at Barnet thanks Ryan for his contributions in black and amber and wishes him all the best going forward.

Once a Bee, always a Bee!
