Publix opening 5 new stores in Florida, Kentucky

Publix is set to open five new stores by early July, expanding its footprint in Florida and Kentucky as the grocery chain continues steady growth across the Southeast.

The openings, scheduled between June 11 and July 2, include four locations in Florida and one in northern Kentucky, according to Publix’s “New Store Openings” page. The additions build on the company’s network of more than 1,400 stores across eight states.

The grocer operates locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Publix was founded in 1930 in Winter Haven, Florida, by George W. Jenkins and now employs more than 260,000 people, according to the company.

Five locations are scheduled to open between June 11 and July 2:

  • 16642 SR 64 E, Bradenton, Florida — June 11
  • 5401 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, Kentucky — June 17
  • 8710 W Lake Ruby Dr., Winter Haven, Florida — June 18
  • 42660 Hwy 27, Davenport, Florida — June 25
  • 1421 Sadler Rd., Fernandina Beach, Florida — July 2
