‘Elle’ Drops Trailer for ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel Series

Elle is making her debut.
Prime Video has released the official trailer and key art (below) for the highly anticipated Legally Blonde prequel series, which releases all eight episodes on July 1.
Prime already ordered an early season two renewal.
The prequel series follows the title character Elle, who is played by Lexi Minetree, as a high school student. Reese Witherspoon — who played the character in two Legally Blonde movies in the early 2000s — is among the executive producers.
Minetree was cast in the title role Feburary 2025; June Diane Raphael, Tom Everett Scott, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney and Zac Looker also star.
The first season follows Elle Woods before she was a fish-out-of-water at Harvard. Here’s the logline: “We meet her in 1995 as a fish in the tumultuous waters of high school where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance, and questionable fashion choices. Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone, and forms an even tighter bond to her mother, proving that they can get through anything life throws their way as long as they have each other. With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today.”
Elle is produced by Amazon MGM Studios in association with Hello Sunshine. Created by Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure), Elle is co-showrun and executive produced by Kittrell and Caroline Dries. Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Amanda Brown, Marc Platt and Brad Van Arragon executive produce. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) directed the first two episodes and is an executive producer. Julia Brownell, Eli Wilson Pelton, Josie Craven and Jen Regan aare supervising producers; Bryan J. Raber and Asmita Paranjape produce.
