‘It’s just a merry-go-round’ Dodgers hammer Reds’ Nick Martinez in Game 2 6th inning

Cincinnati Reds vs. Los Angeles Dodgers NL Wild Card Series Game 2

Enquirer reporters Gordon Wittenmyer and Pat Brennan preview Game 2 of the Reds vs. Dodgers NL wild card series in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ 6th inning was a nightmare for Cincinnati Reds pitcher Nick Martinez during Game 2 of their National League wild-card series at Dodger Stadium.

Martinez allowed four hits and walked one in 1/3 of an inning before Tony Santillan relieved him.

“It’s just a merry-go-round of all this talent and ability all through this lineup,” ESPN analyst Doug Glanville said during the broadcast.

The Dodgers’ offense came to life in the same inning that the Reds failed to score after having the bases loaded with nobody out against starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Reds manager Terry Francona said during an in-game interview with ESPN that Zack Littell impressed as he made his way through the Dodgers’ lineup for the first time. Littell did surrender the lead before Nick Lodolo relieved him.

Sal Stewart provided the Reds’ only RBIs through the first six innings.

The Reds’ starting lineup did not include Noelvi Marte or Miguel Andujar.
