EXCLUSIVE: Disney has confirmed to us that Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous), Sean Teale (Skins), Simone Ashley (Bridgerton), Amar Chadha-Patel (Willow), Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper), Matthew Beard (The Imitation Game) and Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters) have been cast in recurring guest star roles in season six of Only Murders In The Building.
The storyline is being kept under wraps on the latest installment in the hit Hulu Original, which is filming in the UK, marking the first time the show is venturing overseas.
Crime-solving trio Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez are back for season six alongside Michael Cyril Creighton. Season five also featured Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, and Jermaine Fowler.
We haven’t had confirmation yet which S5 guest talent will be returning but Joy Randolph has been pictured in social media posts from set. Rumors had been building online about some of the UK guest stars.
Only Murders in the Building hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman. Season six executive producers include John Hoffman, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith, Jennifer Crittenden & Gabrielle Allan.
The show follows Charles, Oliver and Mabel, three eccentric neighbors, who find purpose and chaos in solving murders that hit close to home through their true-crime podcast, turning their New York apartment building into a playground of mystery and mischief.
In the final moments of season five, the trio sits down to listen to Cinda Canning’s newest true-crime podcast. The podcast recounts the story of a red-haired woman accused of killing a royal descendant in London, whom Cinda claimed was innocent and sent to the United States for safety. Shortly after, the red-haired woman staggers to the gates of the Arconia, but she is revealed to be Cinda herself, having been fatally attacked in relation to this London-based royal scandal.
