Woman busted with slew of drugs during traffic stop: police

Early Tuesday, Sault police officers pulled over a vehicle that had no rear licence plate, but what they apparently found during the traffic stop was nearly $10,000 worth of drugs.
At around 3:30 a.m., officers conducted the traffic stop at the intersection of Patrick Street and Henrietta Avenue.
“Upon speaking with the driver, who was identified as the accused, officers observed drugs inside the vehicle. The accused was arrested,” police said in a news release.
Police found the following items while searching the vehicle:
- Approximately 36.72 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Approximately 17.95 grams of suspected cocaine
- 66 tablets of suspected oxycodone
- Approximately 5.91 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- Weigh scales
- Drug packaging materials
- Other drug paraphernalia
- Approximately $180 in Canadian currency
The total estimated street value of drugs seized is approximately $9,214.
Amanda Wamboldt is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Oxycodone)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5,000
- Drive Motor Vehicle, Fail to Display Two Plates (under the Highway Traffic Act)
- Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle (under the Highway Traffic Act)
- Fail to Surrender Insurance Card (under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Wamboldt is considered innocent until proven guilty.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
