SEVERE T-STORM WATCH(Maxuser | KCTV5)

By the time we get to 5 or 6 pm, we’ll be watching for severe cells to fire up quickly to the northwest, marching southwest towards the KC metro through the evening. Models are now indicating more of a “broken line” or “cluster” of storms. That is good news, as it indicates not every spot will receive severe storms. Once we get to later on in the evening, say from 8 pm to 11 pm, the metro will have its best chance for severe impacts.

Once we get to the overnight hours, things will calm down, & we’ll have a dry start to your day on Sunday.

SUNDAY: Sunday will be a completely different story. Thanks to the cold front moving through, it will be much cooler, less humid, & overall much more comfortable out there! Temps are only expected to rise to 73. We’ll have partly cloudy skies & dry conditions.

WORKWEEK: We’ll stay dry through Monday until we have a low 30% chance for isolated showers & non-severe storms Tuesday, as temps return to the 80s. Heat & humidity surge back in Wednesday, which will fuel our next severe chance, with 50% odds for storms. Additionally, we’ll really see non-storm winds pick up, gusting up to 40 mph. Wednesday will be a First Warn.
