Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has been seen showing her support for one of the Emmerdale cast as he launched a really personal move.

The actress, who is known for playing DS Lisa Connor-Swain in the ITV soap, took to social media to praise fellow actor Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis Barton in the Leeds-based show, as he released his first book.

Lewis, who made his first appearance in the Dales last year, is the first neurodivergent character in Emmerdale, and Bradley has previously spoken about the realities of being autistic and the importance of representation.

With his new book, Autistically Me: How to understand and celebrate our autistic minds, Bradley is hoping to use his growing platform to champion neurodivergent voices. Described by the actor as a “celebratory toolkit for unique minds,” the book blends lived experience with practical advice, offering guidance for anyone navigating autism, at any stage of their journey.

As the book was released this week, Vicky shared a photo of Bradley beaming for the camera as he held up his published work and told her followers: “You’re amazing @brad_riches #autisticallyme.”

Bradley originally auditioned for a completely different role in Emmerdale. Speaking to Attitude magazine, Bradley revealed: “I came to Leeds for a meeting for a different character: Dylan, who is in April’s storyline. But then the schedule didn’t work, and I thought I’d missed the opportunity.”

However, back in December two years ago, Bradley was contacted, and after an audition and chemistry test with Mike Parr, he secured the role of Lewis. Reflecting on the news that he had the role, he added: “I felt like it was meant to be. The personality of the character fits me so much better.”
