SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Saturday and Sunday are First Alert Weather Days with heat indices climbing to 105° – 112°. Storms will develop and some of them could be severe with damaging wind gusts and small hail.
Saturday: 75/98, a heat advisory will likely be issued as we will feel like 108° or higher. 40% chance of afternoon/early evening thunderstorms
There will be a cold front moving towards the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, which may give us more cloud coverage and increase rain chances, but do little to nothing for heat relief.
Sunday: 75/96, a heat advisory may be issued again with feels like temperatures approaching 110°, 50% chance of afternoon/early evening thunderstorms
Monday: 76/94, heat indices of 100°, 60% chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
Tuesday: 74/86 mostly cloudy, on and off rain chances throughout the day as another cold front stalls in our area, 60% chance of rain/isolated storms
Wednesday: 73/85 mostly cloudy, 60% chance of scattered rainstorms
Thursday: 74/92, 30% chance of afternoon showers and storms
Friday: 76/93, 30% chance of afternoon showers and storms
MARINE: Rest of Friday…S winds 10 kt, seas building 2 to 3 ft. Saturday…W winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming SW in the afternoon, seas 2 ft. Saturday night…SW winds 10 to 15 kt, seas 2 ft. Sunday…SW winds 10 to 15 kt, seas 2 to 3 ft, slight chance of showers and storms. Sunday night…SW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to 25 kt, seas 3 to 4 ft.
RIP CURRENT RISK: Low risk for Saturday
TRACKING THE TROPICS: Disorganized showers and storms in the Bay of Campeche have a 20% chance of tropical development in the next two to seven days. There is no threat to the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
