► FOLLOW ALONG

• That’s game. Soto closes it out as the Pirates rally from a four-run deficit to win 6-5

• Huge strikeout of Soderstrom after falling behind 3-0.

• Not bad pitches from Soto, by the way. Sinkers on the inner part of the plate to both Kurtz and Langeliers.

• Langeliers follows with a single to center. Runners on first and second for Soderstrom.

• Soto gives up a one-out single to Kurtz.

HOME RUN: Lowe sends homer No. 18 into the bullpen in right. Crushed that one here in the ninth. Pirates, 6-5

Gregory Soto is warming in the bullpen.

• Montgomery gives up a one-out walk before striking out Colby Thomas and Bolte to end the eighth.

• Triolo grounds out to end the top of the eighth. Callihan stranded at second. Mason Montgomery will get the bottom half of the eighth.

• Wilson grounds into an inning-ending fielder’s choice.

• That wild pitch was as predictable as they come.

• Sisk strikes out Kurtz for the first out and he’ll now exit. Yohan Ramirez will face Langeliers.

Alika Williams leads off the seventh with a double to left off Sisk. A’s have a runner in scoring position right away for the top of the order.

HOME RUN: Reynolds goes the opposite way for a two-run shot, his second homer of the night and his fourth hit. Tied at 5-5

Evan Sisk replaces Keller after 5 1/3 innings.

HOME RUN: Gelof gets a 2-2 sweeper right down the middle and makes Keller pay with a solo shot to left. Athletics, 5-3

• Kinda lost in all of this is the fact that Keller passed Steve Blass tonight for seventh place on the Pirates’ all-time strikeouts list.

• Keller begins the sixth.

• Rodriguez is retired on a 6-5-4-5 putout. Ran past second on what was an infield single for Mangum. Wilson held onto the ball and wisely got Endy in the rundown. Ends what could have been an even bigger inning.

RUN: It’s a one-run game in the sixth. Rodriguez singles to score O’Hearn from second. Athletics, 4-3

• O’Hearn doubles and that’s it for Perkins. Justin Sterner enters.

HOME RUN: Reynolds leads off the sixth with a solo shot to center. His ninth of the season. Didn’t know if Bolte had that one robbed. Three-hit night for Reynolds. Athletics, 4-2

• Keller strikes out Wilson to end a seven-pitch at-bat and strand a runner after a two-out walk. He threw 23 pitches there in that inning, but honestly an impressive bounce back after a long first.

• Pirates get runners on via a hit and two walks but can’t generate any runs in the fifth.

• It’s honestly quite impressive that Keller is only sitting at 61 pitches over four innings considering that 38-pitch first. Two seven-pitch innings followed by nine in the fourth.

• Gelof singles to lead off the fourth, advances to second on a 4-3 putout and then gets tagged out on a 6-4 fielder’s choice as Triolo wisely threw to second.

RUN: Pirates get one back as Reynolds scores from third on a Gonzales groundout. Athletics, 4-1

• Pirates have something cooking here in the fourth. Back-to-back singles by Reynolds and O’Hearn have runners on the corners with one out.

• Another seven-pitch inning for Keller. Allowed a one-out single to Wilson before inducing an inning-ending double play.

• Scoring change: Pirates now charged with just one error rather than two in the first. Throwing error to Horwitz.

• Keller bounces back with a 1-2-3 second. A seven-pitch inning after throwing 38 in the first inning.

• Pirates bats go down in order in the second. Gonzales flied out and Rodriguez and Callihan both went down swinging.

RUN: Butler drives in Gelof with a double to left. Athletics, 4-0.

RUNS: Horwitz makes a great diving stop at first before throwing wide to Keller at first. Three runs end up scoring. Wilson, the last runner to score, was awarded home plate due to obstruction at third. Athletics, 3-0

• Keller gets ahead of Cortes before eventually getting him to swing through a 2-2 curveball for the second out.

• Keller walks the bases loaded.

• Keller’s 18 pitches in and he’ll get an early visit from Bill Murphy after falling behind 2-0 to Wilson.

• Another walk from Keller. Missing with the fastball and curve.

• Keller throws eight pitches and walks Kurtz right out of the gate.

• O’Hearn goes down swinging to end the first.

• Reynolds reaches on a two-out single after not being granted a late challenge on a 2-0 sweeper that was low.
