WASHINGTON (TNND) — Outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released a long list of files this week detailing Dr. Anthony Fauci’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic. Including allegations, he lied to Congress about gain-of-function research, influenced assessments on the origins of COVID-19, and “provided millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute.”
Work that is now widely viewed as the source of the unintentional lab leak that sparked the pandemic,” Gabbard said in a video posted on ‘X.’
Gabbard said the files also expose how Fauci allegedly lied to Congress in 2024 when he was repeatedly asked whether he spoke to the FBI, CIA, DIA or any U.S. intelligence agency concerning viral research before, during, or after the pandemic. Fauci told lawmakers, “not to my knowledge about COVID.”
Gabbard’s release is only intensifying the ongoing battle over pandemic transparency. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who has long accused Fauci of intentionally misleading Congress about gain-of-function research, applauded her decision. He wrote on ‘X,’ Thank you to Tulsi Gabbard for her leadership and service in pursuing the truth, even when it wasn’t politically convenient.” The Senator also told The National News Desk this week that Fauci’s preemptive pardon from former President Joe Biden before leaving office should be challenged in court.
He not only destroyed records, but he would send emails to others and say when you read this destroy it. So, he’s guilty of multiple crimes and someone needs to have the guts to indict him. He needs to be investigated,” said Paul.
A topic fellow Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) also addressed with The National News Desk earlier this month, when asked a similar question.
The presidential pardon doesn’t impact state charges so there still may be some possibilities there. I think where there’s fraud involved, I’m not sure where the statute of limitations apply to all of his potential crimes,” said Johnson.
Fauci has not yet publicly responded to the recent file release from Gabbard. But he has long denied all allegations that he covered up the origins of COVID-19, lied to Congress and funded dangerous gain-of-function research.
