Death Notice of Paul Clancy (Salthill, Galway)

We are completely heartbroken to share the sudden yet peaceful passing of our hero Paul at Galway University Hospital surrounded by his family on Monday 22nd June 2026.

Cherished husband of Johanna and devoted father to their two precious children, Ellen and Finn. Predeceased by his father Padraic and brother-in-law Don Connellan.

Paul will be deeply missed by his wife and children, mother Mary, sisters Linda and Ailish, brother Gearóid, father-in-law Brian, mother-in-law Deirdre, sisters-in-law Laura and Catherine, Jeanette and Lauren, brothers-in-law Gareth, Peter, Bryan and Brian, cherished uncle to Eoin and Conor, Lily and Luke, Mason and Cooper, John and Hugh, Matthew and Michael.

Deeply loved and sadly missed also by his aunts and uncles, cousins, extended Clancy and Fahy family, his many friends and colleagues in the ESB, his beloved Cumann Peile Mhaigh Cuilinn, Cumamn Luath Cleas Gael na Gaillimhe and the wider local and national sporting community.

 

When the final whistle for me has blown

And I stand before God’s judgement throne

May the great referee when he calls my name

Say, you played with Class and Courage Clancy

In every game

Funeral Arrangements

Thursday, 25th June 2026

Paul will lie in Repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91V1K8) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

Friday, 26th June 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Paul on arrival at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Moycullen at 12 noon. Following Mass, Paul will be laid to rest in the adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only please, memorial donations if desired to Cancer Care West. Parking spaces available at the school. Live streaming link for Mass: Here
