World Cup live scores and games today: Morocco wins to kick off round of 16

The 2026 World Cup will kick off the round of 16 on Saturday, July 4.

Saturday is America’s 250th birthday and also the beginning of the last 16, as Canada faces Morocco and France takes on Paraguay.

The round of 32 featured several thrilling matchups, and we can only hope there will be more of the same in the next round.

Here are the games we’re tracking today:

  • 1 PM – Canada vs Morocco (round of 16) at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas
  • 5 PM – Paraguay vs France (round of 16) at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Morocco has become the first team to clinch a quarterfinal berth after its 3-0 win over Canada. Keep track of all the teams that have qualified, as well as all the potential matchups right here.

Morocco is heading for the quarterfinals! A goal on the counterattack makes it 2-0 with just about 10 minutes to play.

Morocco suffered a major blow just 20 minutes into its World Cup round of 16 match against Canada, as star forward Ismael Saibari had to be removed with an injury.

The 25-year-old went down clutching his hamstring and had to be replaced by Soufiane Rahimi in the 22nd minute of the match in Houston.

PHILADELPHIA — Playing for a place in the World Cup quarterfinals, France and Paraguay will have to deal with blistering heat Saturday.

The round of 16 match is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, with the temperature expected to be over 95 degrees at kickoff on July 4.
