New details have emerged just a day after Jon and Summer Pardi announced in a joint Instagram post that they were getting divorced.
WhiskeyRiff.com obtained the divorce complaint filed by Summer on May 12.
The site said that she cited “irreconcilable differences,” as her reason for filing and requested primary custody of their two daughters — Presley Fawn, 3, and Sienna Grace, 2. Summer also requested that Jon be required to pay spousal support.
The singer and his wife first shared the news — joining a wave of country music couples who have split up recently — on Friday.
“After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” the statement read. “Our daughters will always remain our highest priority and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as co-parents.
“Thank you for your understanding, support, and respect as we navigate these changes as a family. – Jon and Summer.”
While that sounds amicable, there is bad news for Jon in WhiskeyRiff.com’s findings. The site said that Summer is represented by Rose Palermo, who is known as the “divorce attorney to the stars.” Palermo is also representing Jelly Roll in his divorce from Bunnie Xo and has represented Kelsea Ballerini, Conway Twitty and Wynonna Judd, among others, in the past.
The outlet reported that Jon Pardi has yet to respond to Summer’s divorce complaint.
Pardi added another statement on his Instagram stories after their joint announcement.
“While I navigate this next chapter, I’m going to take some time away from social media to focus on myself and my family,” he wrote. “Thanks to you all for the love and support. My team will handle posting for the time being. I’ll see you at the show.”
Jon and Summer met in 2017 and were married for five years.
