Alyssa Thomas said the WNBA has not helped the Mercury deal with the threats since the Caitlin Clark incident.

The Indiana Fever return to action against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday, July 5, though Caitlin Clark will not be on the hardwood.

The former Iowa women’s basketball star told reporters on Friday that she would not play in Sunday’s game.

Clark, who left the team’s game against the Phoenix Mercury early on June 24 with a back injury and missed the following contest on June 27, has sat out multiple practices the week leading up to the Aces game.

Las Vegas is led by four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson (25.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2 blocks), who leads the team in points, rebounds, steals and blocks this season. Wilson missed the team’s 93-85 loss to the New York Liberty on June 30, though she is expected to return against the Fever.
