Vegetation fire sparks in the Boise Foothills, grows to more than 1,500 acres

Boise Fire is responding to a vegetation fire in the Boise foothills.

The dispatch on Pulsepoint shows the fire is located in a foothills neighborhood near Crestline Dr. and Claremont Dr. The fire is beginning to move uphill, and air resources have been requested, according to Watch Duty. Additional units are being called out to the scene. Boise Fire reports that no structures are currently threatened as of 4:45 p.m. Early estimates currently put the fire at roughly 2,000 acres.

Homes in the area and the Boise Foothills trail system in the Hulls Gulch area are being evacuated as fire crews call for additional air resources. A text alert has been sent out by the Boise Fire Department calling for anyone in the immediate area of the Hulls Gulch trail system to leave immediately.

The Bureau of Land Management is issuing a temporary closure of BLM-managed public lands and trails within the Boise Foothills, approximately two miles northwest of Boise due to the Claremont Fire.

Specifically, the closure includes BLM-managed lands, roads, and trails (except those maintained by Ada County) between Bogus Basin Road, Idaho State Highway 21, and Boise Ridge Road. This closure is in effect beginning July 6, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. and is anticipated to be lifted July 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. This closure does not affect private land.
