2025-26 Topps Cosmic Chrome Basketball will be the first licensed version of the out-of-this-world Chrome product.
The brand is back on the hardwood after making its debut two years ago and will again deliver many exciting themes based on the wonders of outer space.
Topps will initially release the product during a First Day Issue pre-order Dutch auction on March 27.
2025-26 Topps Cosmic Chrome Basketball Checklist Overview
While Topps has not announced the size or scope of the base set yet, collectors can expect an eccentric design with outer space-themed accents and plenty of galactic-based parallels. The checklist will include current stars and rookies, as well as retired greats.
The base design carries over to the autographs, and the Cosmic Chrome Autographs will have several parallels, down to 1/1s.
Autographs are typically tough finds in the Cosmic Chrome brand, but collectors will have more hard-signed ink to chase than just the base versions.
First Flight Autographs return, while Alien Autographs, Electro Static, and Singularity Signatures are new to the product.
Inserts within the product have three distinct tiers — traditional inserts, inserts numbered to /50 or fewer, and SSP case hits.
Among the more common inserts are:
- Galaxy Greats
- Extraterrestrial Talent
- Propulsion
- Space Walk
Numbered concepts include:
- Starfractor
- Re-Entry
- Geocentric
- First Light
Cosmic Dust and Hypernova land as SSPs.
Planetary Pursuit includes 10 cards of each player. Variations feature the sun and planets from Mercury to Pluto, giving collectors a chance to collect the entire solar system.
