Patrik Laine’s market is becoming clearer, but one door has just closed.

The Los Angeles Kings no longer appear to be a destination for the former Montreal Canadiens forward.

The strongest rumors were pointing in that direction.

But the situation has changed because the Kings have loaded up on wingers over the past few days.

David Pagnotta provided the full picture.

According to him, Los Angeles probably no longer has room for the Finnish forward:

“I’ve mentioned Minnesota, I’ve mentioned Calgary, I think Calgary’s still an option; LA signed like six wingers, so they might not have a place for him; Tampa; the Islanders at one point.” – DFO Rundown

In any case, we simply hope Laine finds a new team and gets another opportunity.

Patrik Laine still has multiple NHL suitors despite injury concerns

Fortunately for Laine, other options remain.

Pagnotta listed several of them.

The Calgary Flames are still in the mix.

The Minnesota Wild are as well, along with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Pagnotta even mentioned Mathieu Darche’s New York Islanders, a team that reportedly showed interest at one point.

The market for signing Patrik Laine remains active, but uncertain.

Nothing has been finalized, but there is a solid list of potential suitors.

Laine’s profile complicates things a little.

The forward is coming off a season in which he played only five games, recording one assist. But everyone knows about his tremendous potential!

His injury history is undoubtedly making some teams hesitant.

An immense talent, but also a very real risk to take on.
